Mindfulness in the classroom involves teaching students’ techniques to become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and surroundings in the present moment, without judgment. This practice can lead to improved focus, reduced stress, better emotional regulation, and a calmer learning environment. We encourage our students and teachers to engage in religious activities, and this helps us to formulate our students’ mental wellbeing and awareness that they need in their day-to-day lives. These religious and spiritual activities help our students to learn to be more empathetic and harbour kindness and care towards themselves and others.

A holistic education, which focuses on developing the whole child (intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically), is crucial for preparing students for success in life. It fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, alongside emotional intelligence and social responsibility, making individuals well-rounded and adaptable to the complexities of the modern world. At BLC, we focus on holistic education because it matters to us. Each year, planning and execution starts before the start of the school curriculum activities, and we monitor the success of our students in every possible way. We also encourage extracurricular activities to facilitate skills development, for e.g. Karate, enrolment in the national cadet force, girl guide training, rifle shooting, swimming, table tennis are just a few of such activities we do for our students.
We empower our students to foster their self-belief, provide leadership opportunities, and introduce them to strong female role models.
We empower our students to foster their self-belief, provide leadership opportunities, and introduce them to strong female role models. At BLC, we encourage them to embrace challenges, view failure as a learning opportunity, and celebrate their unique strengths and passions. We encourage positive affirmation in their day-to-day learning environment. We highly appreciate growth mindset and support the students in their strengths and in overcoming their weaknesses. Our students are selected for leadership positions such as being prefects, based on their achievements. Thus, they learn about leadership skills, how to become an effective team member, learn to respect team values, organisational skills and how to perform under pressure. We have many such activities where students can take up leadership roles in various sports and societies, for e.g. in our environmental society, students take up leadership roles to learn to preserve and protect the natural environment.
